“Jesus It’s You” co-written by Tommy Niemann of Jacksonville, FL during a Worship Leaders Collective songwriting session, stewed on through time by me in finalizing the verses and structure of the song, and co-produced by Nashville’s music brand and band team through Soto Studios is actually my “birthday Psalm” song. Born on the 28th of Septermber, my psalm is, Psalm 28:7-8 which says, “The Lord is my rock, refuge, strength and shield”. This is the exact part of the chorus that got me and Tommy writing. Malachi Baca and I played around with the piano composition parts earlier in the year of 2024 and this beauty which does Justice in the Artwork of visualizing Jesus in the heavens above the endless sky and released during my birthday month was very touching to me and those who listened and has a melodic vibe that will make you run to the arms of Jesus in Scripture and reality. Wilton McKinley Glenn: Music, Worship, Theology, and the Story of Will & The Word Worship Music
Wilton McKinley Glenn — known to most from the stage as "Will" — traces the arc of his calling back to early musical and spiritual formation.
At age 11, he began taking piano lessons. Those early hours at the keys gave him a foundation in melody, harmony, and discipline that would later shape his songwriting and worship leading.
At age 15, he picked up guitar. Adding guitar expanded how he could lead and write — from congregational strumming to more expressive worship arrangements.
At age 16, two defining moments happened in the same year: he became involved in youth choir, and he came to salvation. The choir gave him a place to use his voice corporately, learning blend, dynamics, and how music carries theology. His salvation at 16 anchored all of that musical gifting in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and it set the trajectory for music not just as art, but as worship "in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24).
From there, Wilton kept building. He would later describe himself as "a guy who can sing and play from choir 'some kinda tenor 2 whose okay at guitar and keys'" — a nod to both his vocal and instrumental roots.

How it began:
Wilton co-founded the "Will & The Word Worship" brand and band idea with a team of collaborators, including Maria Cress, Scott McDonough, and Serenity Ball. That core group helped shape the early sound and vision.
Legal structure:
There are two connected entities:
Will and The Word Music, Inc. — a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) Private Foundation. This is the charitable side where donations are tax-deductible.
Will & The Word Worship Music, LLC — the separate legal bracket for the brand, publishing, and production work. Songs are copyrighted under this LLC.
Wilton serves as Creative Arts Worship Director and runs the organization under "Rev. Will", “Br. Will”, or just “Will” because he thinks his whole name is confusing and long and doesn’t believe in righteousness badge titles to be fair.
Why it was founded:
From the start, the mission was to create and share worship music birthed from local church ministry and personal devotion, and to steward it professionally. Since 2014 he’s been publishing works, and the LLC structure allows him to work with Nashville teams, hire session musicians, produce videos in the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area, and involve local or remote musicians, mixers, and masters and travel. He even loves traveling just to help out with a Sunday service which has been quite often in his years.
Fundraisers explicitly state the purpose: cover pre-production, home studio upgrades to "Nashville-level standards," distribution, website, marketing, PR, female vocal accompaniment, outsourced Nashville or other studio sessions, love in studio sessions, and live video. A 2024-2025 fundraiser asked for around $800 to support the latest written song “Jesus It’s You” for his birthday last Oct. 2025 already finished lyrically in collaboration as "Will & The Word Worship Music, LLC".
Current work in 2026:
He’s producing more projects with local friends, while continuing to release through distributors and maintain the website and social links and back end administrative musical registry work, like copyright, which actually has and is a lot more than just releasing a song every week. He is also with Songtrust and the MCL.

These are my favorite moments, a beautiful mosaic of God's fingerprints, as Kenneth Broadway, a worship pastor at CityLight Gainesville, once said. I've been fingerprinted by God and got my security clearance to heaven! BET! Thank you everyone for being a light in my life if I lifted you up or vice-versa.
